Mathilda Paatz will be chasing success in Formula 4 France for the ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team in the 2024 season. The Cologne native is the first female driver to compete in the junior team. The 15-year-old will contest her first season in a Formula 4 racer next year. A central entry by the FFSA provides equal opportunities for all participants in the French racing series. In total, the rookies of the ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team will complete 21 championship rounds at seven events on attractive and varied race tracks.
Paatz is the first woman in the ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team. The junior driver feels very comfortable in her role: "I'm looking forward to this task and am highly motivated. Above all, I want to counter the prejudices against women in motorsport with a good performance." Last season, the Rhinelander drove for Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso's junior team in international karting championships.
The 15-year-old already gained her first Formula experience at a competition as part of "FIA Girls on Track" in Franciacorta (Italy). The ADAC Sports Foundation protégé left a lasting impression and qualified for the finale at the Italian circuit in Fiorano Modenese in November.
"Gaining as much experience as possible"
Her focus for her debut season in French Formula 4 is on getting to grips with the series. "At the moment, the predominant thing is looking forward to my first year in a Formula 4 racer. I'm not putting any pressure on myself and am trying to gain as much experience as possible in my first season," explains Paatz.
In the French Formula Championship, the motorsport stars of tomorrow pilot a Formula 4 racer from the manufacturer Mygale. The series operator FFSA ensures equal opportunities through a centralized operation with its own mechanics and engineers. In addition, theoretical lessons are held as part of the FFSA Academy. There, the youngsters will prepare for the upcoming races.
The protagonists will also have extensive testing opportunities before the season. The calendar for Formula 4 France 2024 will be published shortly.
