The final of the Champions of the Future Euro Series (CotF) in Franciacorta, Italy, was a big disappointment for Mathilda Paatz. After a good start to the weekend, which raised hopes of a good result, the DPK-Racing pilot was slowed down by a defective race engine. In the heats, in which some of the young talents were over-motivated and went at it with a crowbar, Paatz had to avoid the collisions and accidents in front of her and thus fell back to the end of the field several times.
Paatz tests in the Prema Powerteam at 'Girls on Track 2023' and reaches the final
A great honour for Mathilda Paatz in the FIA project "Girls on Track - Rising Stars", because the automobile world federation had a special surprise in store for the eight participants: At the first elimination competition in Franciacorta, Italy, the racing drivers were allowed to test with current Formula 4 bolides of the Prema Powerteam, which has already helped greats such as Mick Schumacher or Charles Leclerc to advance to Formula 1. As in the previous year, Paatz was able to convince the jury and secure a place in the final as one of four participants.
World Championship preparation for Paatz: Turbulent races in the WSK Euro Series
Last weekend, Mathilda Paatz used the WSK Euro Series event in Franciacorta, Italy, to prepare for the Champions of the Future Euro Series and the FIA World Karting Championship at the same venue. In the process, the DPK-Racing drivers gained important experience, but also had to pay dearly. Two retirements through no fault of their own prevented them from reaching the final, but the performance and progress on the track give hope for the last races of the year.
Pioneering weeks for Paatz: Also nominated for "Girls on Track" in 2023
