Nach einem guten Start in das Wochenende, der Hoffnung auf ein gutes Ergebnis machte, wurde die Pilotin von DPK-Racing durch einen defekten Rennmotor eingebremst. In den Vorl\u00e4ufen, in denen die jungen Talente teilweise \u00fcbermotiviert und mit dem Brecheisen zur Sache gingen, musste Paatz den Kollisionen und Unf\u00e4llen vor ihr ausweichen und fiel dadurch mehrfach an das Ende des Feldes zur\u00fcck.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das Finalwochenende der Champions of the Future Euro Series im italienischen Franciacorta startete mit einem R\u00fcckschlag: Schon im ersten Freien Training wurde Paatz durch einen Defekt am Rennmotor gebremst, was nicht nur wertvolle Trainingszeit, sondern auch das wichtige Antriebsaggregat kostete. Den Rest des Wochenendes musste die DPK-Pilotin daher mit einem Ersatzmotor bestreiten. Nichtsdestotrotz \u00fcberzeugte Paatz in den Trainingssitzungen mit einem guten Speed und schnellen Rundenzeiten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diese Performance konnte die 14-J\u00e4hrige auch im wichtigen Qualifying wiederholen. Wenngleich sich Paatz in ihrer Gruppe nicht die optimale Position f\u00fcr die schnelle Runde fand und dadurch rund zwei Zehntelsekunden verlor, war im Vergleich zu den bisherigen Rennen ein klarer Fortschritt zu erkennen. Im Gesamtklassement landete die F\u00f6rderpilotin der ADAC Stiftung Sport auf dem 58. Startplatz von insgesamt 104 Teilnehmer*innen. In den ersten beiden Heats am Donnerstag, die Paatz auf den Positionen 17 und 14 beendete, lief es nicht perfekt, allerdings durfte die 14-J\u00e4hrige mit ihrer Leistung zufrieden sein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ein Freitag zum Vergessen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Am Freitag folgte ein Tag zum Vergessen. In den drei verbleibenden Heats konnte sich Paatz nicht verbessern und erreichte nur die Positionen 32, 21 und 28. Gleich zweimal befand sich die Sch\u00fclerin nach dem Start auf der falschen Linie und konnte nur mit M\u00fche den vor ihr entstandenen Unf\u00e4llen ausweichen. Dazu kam, dass die DPK-Pilotin das Tempo der Spitzengruppe nicht mitgehen konnte. \u201eDer Speed hat uns am Freitag gefehlt, vielleicht habe ich die Reifen am Donnerstag ein bisschen zu hart rangenommen\u201c, gr\u00fcbelt Paatz. \u201eAuch der Ersatzmotor baute im Laufe des Wochenendes etwas ab und ich war dadurch leider nicht mehr so konkurrenzf\u00e4hig.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Im Superheat am Samstag wollte Paatz noch einen H\u00f6hepunkt setzen, um das Wochenende mit einem vers\u00f6hnlichen Abschluss zu beenden, doch auch hier hatte die F\u00f6rderpilotin des Deutschen Sportfahrerkreises kein Gl\u00fcck. Als es kurz vor Beginn des Rennens zu einem Startabbruch kam, staute sich das Feld am Ende und Paatz dr\u00fcckte sich schon vor dem Aufleuchten der Startampel den Frontspoiler ein, was nach dem Rennen mit einer F\u00fcnf-Sekunden-Strafe geahndet wurde. Nach dem erfolgreichen Start musste die 14-J\u00e4hrige einem weiteren Unfall ausweichen und fiel dadurch an das Ende des Feldes zur\u00fcck. Schlussendlich war im Superheat nicht mehr als der 31. Platz m\u00f6glich, was immerhin zum 60. Gesamtrang von 104 Teilnehmer*innen reichte. Zudem war Paatz das beste Nachwuchstalent aus Deutschland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mathilda Paatz nimmt die positiven Erfahrungen mit und konzentriert sich auf die bevorstehenden Aufgaben. Vom 5. bis 8. Oktober findet in Franciacorta die FIA Kart Weltmeisterschaft statt, an der die K\u00f6lnerin gemeinsam mit DPK-Racing teilnehmen wird. Die Leistung am Donnerstag und im Qualifying machen Mut f\u00fcr die WM, zudem wird Paatz mit einem zus\u00e4tzlichen Motor gut ger\u00fcstet sein.
